Can You Wear A Medium? In a Cruise Ship It May Be the Perfect Fit
Taking a cruise is a highly popular venue for a relaxing vacation, but with so many options choosing the perfect trip can be confusing. For example, the Tahitian Princess is a medium sized cruise ship.
Is that a compromise? Will you get the same value for your money? Is a ship like the Crystal Serenity a better choice for you that one of the massive floating resorts? To a large extent the answer is one of personal taste.
What Is A Medium Cruise Ship?
A small cruise ship is a vessel with a capacity of less than 500 passengers. On the other hand, a large cruise ship carries anywhere from 1,500 to 3,000 guests. By simple deduction, a medium cruise ship will have somewhere around a thousand passengers.
Small cruise ships distinguish themselves by offering top notch, personalized service. The crew knows your name and quickly masters ever detail of your personal preferences. Large ships create the atmosphere of an exciting, ocean-going resort with live entertainment, restaurants, casinos, theaters, concerts, huge fitness centers and a steady stream of daily activities.
To some extent, medium-sized vessels offer the best of both worlds. You may not get the same personal attention as on a small ship, but chances are good that the crew members with whom you do come into contact will remember you. And while you may not feel that you're constantly being herded off to the next activity, as some people do on large vessels, you'll have more than enough to keep you occupied and may find that you are better able to sample the ship's offerings and won't come away feeling you "missed" something because you ran out of time.
Which Are The Best Medium Cruise Ships?
The twelve-deck Seven Seas Voyager has a capacity for 700 passengers with a crew of 447. Launched in 2003, the ship makes runs to Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Baltic Sea, the British Isles and the Mediterranean. It includes four restaurants, a theater, a casino, a library, an Internet café and shopping boutiques.
The Seven Seas Mariner is owned by the Regent Seven Seas Cruises company and received the 2002 Ship of the Year award from Ocean & Cruise News. It is the first cruise ship to offer a restaurant managed by Le Cordon Bleu of Paris. The vessel has an excellent passenger / crew ratio with 445 crewmen to serve the needs of 700 passengers.
